HHO
Generators versus Hydrogen Cars
Run your car on water HHO generators are often confused with hydrogen
cars even though there is completely different technology at work.
Sometimes people will confuse HHO generators with hydrogen cars
intentionally, but most often is an educational issue instead.

HHO gas is a fuel additive for a gasoline or diesel vehicle. Water
is electrolyzed into HHO gas, which is then fed into the vehicle's
intake system and helps the gasoline or diesel fuel burn more cleanly,
extending the mileage of the car, truck or other internal combustion
engine.
Now, hydrogen cars, other the other hand use completely different
technology. In fact, hydrogen cars themselves come in two different
types including fuel cell vehicles and those that use internal combustion
engines (ICE). In both of these types of hydrogen cars, water is
not a primary source of fuel inside the vehicle nor is it a fuel
additive.
Fuel cell cars, in general used compressed hydrogen gas, between
3,600 psi and 10,000 psi depending upon the manufacturer. Hydrogen
gas and ambient air containing oxygen is fed to the fuel cell, which
creates electricity, heat and a small amount of water as a byproduct.
The electricity is used to drive the electric motors inside the
vehicle.
Now, hydrogen cars that use internal combustion engines (ICE) also
come in a couple of different varieties. Some cars such as the Mazda
rotary are bi-fuel vehicles, using both compressed hydrogen gas
and gasoline (which never mix) but can be powered by either fuel
with the flip of a switch.
Another bi-fuel vehicle, the BMW Hydrogen 7 uses both liquid hydrogen
and gasoline to power the vehicle, again with the flip of a switch
(push of a button). The gasoline and hydrogen do not mix inside
the engine. Now, there are other hydrogen ICE vehicle built by Ford
or Quantum as retrofits that use only compressed H2 to power the
vehicle.
So, yes, this is confusing and it is easy to see why many people
talk about hydrogen cars and gasoline-powered cars with HHO generators
interchangeably. But, the technology is not the same (not even close)
and one should be wary of websites, journalists, advocates, scammers
and others who confuse the issues with misinformation.
